Pennsylvania's civilian labor force was down 6,000 over the month to 6,434,000. The national unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in February. Total nonfarm employment increased with 8,300 additional jobs from January to February. Compared to a year ago, on a seasonally adjusted basis, seven of the 11 major industry sectors in the state showed employment gains.
