Sam Rosen and Ronde Barber have the call in this one.
Hogan completed all five of his pass attempts on the drive as the winless Browns took their first lead of the season. McCown, who spent the past two seasons with the Browns, was intercepted once by cornerback Jason McCourty and sacked twice by Garrett. Kizer played one half, threw one interception and went scoreless for the second game in a row. Meanwhile, Isaiah Crowell isn't showing much but Duke Johnson is! At this rate, he'll finish the season with less than 600 yards.
Unfortunately, for the Browns, the mistakes are going to cost them and they will try again next week but for now, they are 0-5.
As for next week's game at Houston, Jackson wants to watch game film before deciding whether to stick with Hogan or go back to Kizer, who leads the league with nine interceptions. The Jets don't give McCown many opportunities to throw downfield often, but the short passing game has aided McCown's efficiency.
Slumping receiver Kenny Britt won't play this week, either.
"I just let him know that I'm thinking about him, that I loved him and to hang in there", McCown said after leading the New York Jets to a 17-14 win.
"It's early and not unlike the situation that we were in when we got to Cleveland, just understand that they are trying to build something and move forward with their program", he said. In his 13-year career, McCown never has guided a team to three straight wins.
Ealy has a shoulder injury and is coming off a big game in which he had an interception and four passes defensed.
Rookie safety Marcus Mays read his eyes, jumped the route and easily swiped the ball.
The Browns squandered four scoring opportunities during a sometimes comical - and hard to watch - first half in which they dominated statistically but couldn't get out of their own way. Have thoughts on how the Browns and Jets are performing?
For all of Lee's frustration about the Jets' mistakes in Cleveland, he said they have defiantly showed during this 3-2 start "what we've been capable of doing". That would mean more snaps for Ealy, who batted down four passes last week, a Jets record for a lineman. Still, neither team here is good, and we're likely to see a lot of sloppy and uninspiring play. Expect these two to tangle quite a bit Sunday.
Garrett, the Browns' prized rookie, was not listed on the status report, though he was limited in practice this week, according to Pro Football Talk.
It was the first game action for Myles Garrett, the top pick of the 2017 draft and also featured coach Hue Jackson making a quarterback change.
