There comes a time when you need to clean up your iOS device.

The new operating system is going to be restricted to running apps written in 64-bit code, meaning many older apps written in 32-bit code will stop working for users after they update their systems. Those who've got the 64-bit enabled iPads will receive new multitasking features, a new Dock, a redesigned Control Center, an all-new file system with the Files app, drag and drop, virtual keyboard, and a lot more. Newer models have up to 265GB. It's compatible with the iPhone 5S and above, the iPad 5th generation (2017); Mini 2, 3 and 4; all Air models and all Pro Models, and the 6th-generation iPod Touch. The game is called "The Machines" and will be rolling out as a free app with the iOS 11 update. After you finished recording, your device will save the movie file in the gallery. Now you are allowed to change the volume while watching videos uninterruptedly. Apple says it will be sometime on September 19. The App Store also has a new "Today" view that shows new content every day. Unfortunately, it will disable the voice feature. You can also ask it to translate your words to Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Italian.

This feature also will auto-reply to text messages while you are driving.

Soon screenshots will be a thing of the past as another new feature is the ability to record your iPhone or iPad's screen.

Users can scan paper documents with a feature that automatically finds the edges to angle and centre the page.

It might also be wiser to download the update on a laptop or computer and then updating the smartphone via lightning cable to avoid download errors on users' iPhone devices.

Most apps are behaving though a few (Chrome and Spotify) have crashed once or twice in the hours since the install. If that happens to you and your device don't be alarmed.

One of last year's headline additions, the iPhone 7 Plus portrait mode, arrived in iOS 10.1. It can be preordered from October 27 and will be available from November 11.

Brand new Control Center: Control Center has a new design so that it sits on a single screen instead of two or three swiping panels.
