Rob Gronkowski suffers groin injury in Patriots' victory

Belichick's Patriots advance to 1-1 on the season, and will face the Houston Texans in Week 3.

The accomplishment came as no surprise because it's something he has been able to do multiple times in his career.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have had a long time to ponder their loss to Kansas City in Week 1.

"I'm not oblivious to them", Brady said.

In spite of all the bragging Sean Payton did on his "new" defense, the unit looked a hell of a lot like his "old" defense, which was one of the worst in the National Football League last season and, frankly, has been for years.

"We've got the right type of locker room, but we're going to have to respond quickly", Payton said.

We're now getting a bit more information as to why Cooks was traded.

A five-time Super Bowl champion and two-time league MVP, Brady had one of his best seasons ever past year at the age of 39. While the numbers have been historic - see his 30-for-39, 447 yards, 3 TDs yesterday - his bread and butter has been Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and, yesterday, James White. He committed no turnovers - at least not any that counted.

For Week 2, Sunday's matchup between the Patriots and Saints is a pretty big game for both sides. The defense did allow Saints quarterback Drew Brees to have 356 passing yards and two touchdowns. He caught six passes for 116 yards on Sunday before exiting the game in the fourth quarter with a reported groin injury.

Kareem Hunt got loose for a 53-yard touchdown run with 1:20 left in the third quarter to put the Chiefs up 13-10.

The Patriots will take on another future Hall of Fame quarterback in Drew Brees and his New Orleans Saints.

Phil Dawson's 30-yard field goal with 8:02 remaining in overtime rallied Arizona Cardinals from a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit at Indianapolis.

"I wouldn't say we're out of sync". Brandon Coleman did catch a 42-yarder and a 5-yard TD in the first half.

On a possible serious injury to Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady being wicked smart, and Tony Romo blowing away Phil Simms yet again.

He didn't have to say what that stat was - winning - but his head coach was alluding to it when talking about other players after the game. "I do want to go out playing my best". "A lot of different people contributed". Maybe. Most prognosticators had the Saints going 0-2 to start the year, and struggling during to the first quarter pole of the season. "We've got to find a way to get a win".

The injury was later announced as a groin issue and he did not return. The Saints were 2 of 6 in the half and 4 for 12 for the game.

The win was slightly soured for the Panthers, though, with the lose of tight end Greg Olsen to an injured right foot. The five-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP became just the 13th quarterback to start a game at age 40, according to A.P.
