Retired UFC star Brock Lesnar accepts Jon Jones' fight challenge

Posted July 29, 2017

It will happen when Jones starts headlining big pay-per-view cards regularly and winning on a consistent basis - making people forget about the past 30 months that now overshadow him and his past accomplishments.

Had either Jones or Cormier pulled out, Manuwa was named by UFC chief Dana White as the man to replace them in a headline fight.

In the co-feature bout, champion Tyron Woodley (17-3-1) defends his welterweight championship against Demian Maia.

The time for the talk is over. He was subsequently stripped of his title, suspended by the UFC and sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation.

The prices have moved in Jones' favor since he opened at -150 with Cormier coming back at +120.

As far as Lesnar is concerned, he is now contracted to the WWE until at least WrestleMania 34, meaning any potential bout with Jones will have to wait quite some time. Try to understand this, though; Cormier is booed and Jones is cheered...

But then I watched their first fight again and Jones was just so dominant that it is hard to imagine the fight going much differently. He may be content with being labeled as the antagonist in his saga with Cormier; cool with the idea of being the "bad guy." .

"I feel fantastic. I've missed it a lot".

Prior to his first fight with Jones in 2015, Cormier had not only gone undefeated in his career, but he had won every round of every fight minus one rather controversial scorecard in his bout against Josh Barnett when they met in 2012. Having spent a majority of the past 2.5 years on the sidelines, he's likely done as much as he can to prevent Cormier from exacting revenge this weekend.

"The perception is that my life is still a little out of control", Jones said.

"Good fight, the kind I really get to get in there and have a good time".

Last time, Jones made Cormier cry by earning the decision.

"Prediction is to see Daniel Cormier. possibly be finished, you know?"

Woodley believes he has yet to deliver a peak performance. He simply didn't know how to combat someone who was bigger and stronger than him. "That's what makes me do the things I do". "There's no taking me down if things don't go your way".

He is one victory from tying Michael Bisping at 20 for most UFC wins.

Did I mention how stacked this card is? Jon Jones has obviously had the potential to be the greatest of all-time, I mean, this guy still hasn't lost a fight.

Interestingly, Jones then chose to go topless for the staredown. "And just two days ago I was trying to trim up my mustache and I cut it way too thin".

"We both want to be THE GUY and so far I've been THE GUY, and I think it's created a lot of hatred in his heart", Jones said. Then she waited to finally get an opponent.

Germaine de Randamie narrowly defeated Holly Holm in a controversial decision to win the inaugural 145-pound championship. "I've been training with so many heavyweights this camp, and he just looked so small to me, and I just looked down at him and go "You look like shit".

The jury is still out on Georges St-Pierre upon his return, but something tells me that he won't be able to keep up with the ever-evolving world of MMA.
