Xbox boss Phil Spencer was interviewed about the new console, saying the PS4 Pro is an Xbox one S competitor, not an Xbox One X.
It's impossible to say whether Microsoft will be making a loss on the Xbox One X, or merely breaking even, but we do know for sure that they'll be relying on selling lots of games to turn this into a profitable venture. "If you just look at the specs of what this box is, it's in a different league than any other console that's out there".
In addition to a more powerful GPU, the Xbox One X offers higher bandwidth compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro.
The fact that Microsoft is not making a profit on the Xbox One X now, however, could not be considered surprising at all. The console is the most expensive of this generation for its capabilities, however, it seems that the company has not contemplated making money with this system.
As for the PS4 Pro, it comes with an AMD Polaris graphics with 4.2 teraflops of performance and 8GB of GDDR5 RAM.
Xbox One X will be offering 6 teraflops (trillion floating point operations per second), in comparison to only 4.2 offered by PS4 Pro.
Ybarra replied back to a fan asking if the current Software Development Kit for the Xbox One X is complete or are they still working on it. "But I will say price is critical".
For Microsoft, which will not be making any money off of each Xbox One X sold, it is hoping that the power of the console is enough to attract more players into the Xbox platform.
When Head of Xbox Phil Spencer was asked by the press whether the tech giant was making money, the man simply answered "No". "The focus I had on this show was games you're going to get to play in the next year".
According to Spencer, Microsoft's mindset is that the hardware component of the video game console business is not that part that will make money for companies.
Spencer gave two reasons for the smaller library of compatible original Xbox games on the Xbox One.
