'Most expensive' Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launch expected in September

The fingerprint sensor too will be positioned on the same plane as the camera sensors, although the gap will be a little wider than on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Samsung appears to have put the problems of last year's exploding Galaxy Note 7 behind them with the new Galaxy S8 looking set win every award going in 2017.

One of Samsung's most successful smartphone is on its way back, as the Galaxy Note 8 rises from the ashes left by its Note 7 sibling.

While the price tag is something that fans may have expected, Blass's statement that the Galaxy Note 8 will launch in late September contradicts reports that the smartphone will be unveiled in late August. That's right. According to the report, Galaxy Note 8 will carry a retail price of 999EUR in Europe. Having been released in 2014, the Galaxy Note 4 isn't part of Samsung's main Android update cycle anymore and shouldn't ever be officially updated to Android 7.0 Nougat or later versions of the ubiquitous operating system. Samsung has also made certain improvements to the device's software, including giving the S Pen stylus more functions.

The launch will align the Note 8 with the next iPhone unveiling from Apple which will come with AMOLED display and newly-launched iOS 11. The terms can be seen below and such a promotion will allow Samsung to enjoy greater market reach with the Galaxy S8.

Given that in the United Kingdom, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ cost £689 and £779 respectively, we'd expect the Galaxy Note 8 to cost somewhere in the region of £869 to £899, based on Blass' claims.

Based on these rumors regarding the Galaxy Note 8 launch, designer Benjamin Geskin has created high-resolution renders based on two possible designs.

Samsung attempted to diminish some of the criticism of this feature by including options related to facial recognition and iris scanning, but these were also considered to be less than convenient. This panel looks a bit similar to the current Galaxy S8 models mainly because of the top bezel cutouts for the earpiece, camera, and other sensors. With security becoming an increasingly important aspect of the smartphone industry, it is obvious that the Galaxy Note 8 needs to demonstrate a significant improvement over its predecessor.
