Montgomery County defense lawyers comment on lengthy Cosby jury deliberations

The 12-member jury, which already deliberated more than 15 hours on Monday and Tuesday, working late into the evening on both nights, has been sequestered for the duration of the trial. The officer also testified that Constand had said she was never alone with Cosby prior to the incident.

Most of the jurors looked tired when the judge agreed to send them back to their hotel late Tuesday night. She settled her lawsuit against Cosby in 2006 for an undisclosed sum, though jurors did not hear about that case. One slunk down in his seat, looking angry.

Gianna Constand, the accuser's fiercely protective mother, testified that Cosby apologized over the phone to her and her daughter and offered to pay for her schooling. Gianna Constand wiped away tears at times.

Cosby's felony sexual assault case was handed over to jurors on Monday (11Jun17).

The panel has also been reviewing Cosby's deposition testimony. The comedian acknowledged groping Andrea Constand after giving her pills. The company declined to say if Kalanick's decision was related to the report.

Through three notes to the presiding judge, the jurors signaled possible divisions as they asked to take a new look at the premier pieces of evidence presented by each side in the fiercely contested trial.

Cosby's spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, read the statement from longtime Temple University official Marguerite Jackson, who said Constand told her of a plan to falsely accuse a "high-profile person" of sexual assault so she could sue and get money. He says the encounter was consensual. O'Neill also read to them for about 45 minutes from Cosby's 2005 deposition in Constand's civil case again, from the portions that focused on that night more than 13 years ago and the sequence of events.

She said Cosby gave her three pills and wine before touching her breasts, putting his fingers in her vagina and putting her hand on his erect penis after she sought his advice about moving to Canada and switching careers. The charges were lodged against Cosby on December 30, 2015, before the 12-year statute of limitations to file charges expired. Count three pertains to whether Cosby administered "drugs, intoxicants or other means for the objective of preventing resistance" without Constand's knowledge. The jury is set to reconvene after deliberating for four hours Monday night. Camille would refuse to answer the questions asked of her, even going as far as walking out of court on occasion.

The Holder investigation started after former engineer Susan Fowler posted a blog in February detailing harassment during the year she spent at Uber, writing that she was propositioned by her manager on her first day with an engineering team. The shirt had an image of Fat Albert, Cosby's cartoon creation, with Constand's face superimposed over it.

Arriving at the courthouse in suburban Philadelphia Wednesday, Cosby gave a thumbs-up to the steadily growing crowd of media and onlookers.

Jurors began their second day of deliberations Tuesday by hearing more from Cosby's deposition testimony.

Cosby is charged with drugging and assaulting Constand at his Pennsylvania home in 2004. He says their encounter was consensual.

During the course of deliberations, the jury has asked the court to review evidence.
