HTC has released a video which gives us a look at what they have in store as far as Edge Sense features for their flagship smartphone the U11. You may think squeezing your phone is the future.

In Google Maps, a squeeze will zoom in from the default zoomed out view. With the Edge Sense app, users can squeeze lightly or brusquely to open up different apps. The feature's a bit gimmicky, and I can't say it's left this stage with these new functions that are on their way. Users will soon have the option to squeeze the phone to perform various additional actions.

Now the Edge Sense allows users to launch any app on the device, including Google Assistant.

Beyond Google, Edge Sense will soon enable users to answer and hang-up calls and dismiss alarms, which is ideal for when you really don't want to open your eyes in the morning. The also demonstrated answering and ending calls, dismissing alarms, and pausing videos.

And HTC is soliciting your feature requests, too. At this stage Edge Sense is fairly limited but HTC are not resting on their laurels and have big plans for Edge Sense. Following the video, HTC asks for suggestions regarding what Edge Sense should be used for next.
