Donnarumma: I will discuss Milan renewal after U21 Euros

Posted June 26, 2017

With a year remaining, Milan were desperate to tie down their prize asset to a new and improved contract, and are said to have offered the 18 year-old a €4.5 million-per-year deal, with bonuses also coming into play.

"Translated into English, the Tweet reads: "#Donnarumma #Raiola Yesterday, today and tomorrow".

However, the 18-year-old, now on worldwide duty with the Italian U21s at the European Championships, has today broken his silence regarding the saga surrounding his name.

Mino Raiola, Donnarumma's agent, sought to defend the goalkeeper after he first announced that he would not be signing a new contract at the San Siro.

Gianluigi Donnarumma stated earlier this month that he would not be renewing his AC Milan deal.

"Today my tweet sparked a real uproar, which I did not wish to create, so for that I apologise", the teenager wrote on Instagram.

"I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans". Now I have the national team with who I hope to give all the fans a gift.

And now, he has just thrown the biggest curve ball of all as he put out a fresh post claiming his account was hacked and deleted the original Instagram post.

My promise is, as soon as the European [Championships are] finished I will meet with the club, my family and my agent to discuss a renewal'.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have both been heavily linked with a swoop and the fact that Donnarumma had not spoken out about his future only added fuel to the fire. "I'm closing social media".
