Congress hits back at PM Modi for Emergency remark

India reportedly wants the drones for surveillance of the Indian Ocean — waters that China's navy increasingly traverses after establishing its first overseas base in the Horn of Africa nation of Djibouti. "In the 70 years of the country's existence no Indian Prime Minister has ever visited and this is further expression of the State of Israel's military, economic and diplomatic strength", Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at a weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday.

Lastly, it was reported that Apple's CEO Tim Cook reached Hotel Willard Inter-Continental, Washington DC, very early this morning to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The two leaders have a lot in common", she said, pointing out that "they are the world's two most followed political leaders on social media".

India does not have a formal alliance with the USA, but defense ties have intensified in recent years with joint drills between the two militaries and defense sales.

The prime minister did not refer to Pakistan or any other country by name, but referred to the surgical strikes, carried out by Indian armed forces against terrorist camps inside Pakistani territory in September 2016. White House officials dismissed suggestions that the administration has ignored India. Defence and security are other important issues that the two leaders should discuss, he said.

The potential for a clash between "Make in India" and Trump's pledge to put "America First" by bringing jobs and manufacturing back to the U.S.is obvious.

Trump's protectionist instincts, however, are at odds with India's efforts to boost exports and encourage Western manufacturers to "Make In India" ─ a flagship Modi scheme.

The senior administration official made the remarks while responding to questions on whether the US-India relationship has drifted under the new government, in part, because of President Trump and the administrations support to China. This has translated into tightening of rules on the H-1B visa, used by many Indian companies to send skilled professionals to the USA, as well as vilification of firms that have moved jobs to Asia.

This deal would also be a key test of defense ties that had flourished formerly under the Obama administration but have diminished under Donald Trump owing to his courting of India's rival, China, as he seeks China's help to keep a check on North Korea's nuclear program.

Modi said he is relentlessly working to fast-track India's development wherein there is no scope for corrupt and dishonest.

Indian officials reject suggestions that Modi's "Make in India" platform is protectionist and complain about the USA regulatory process for generic pharmaceuticals and rules on fruit exports to the United States.

"All of this is an additional expression of Israel's enhanced worldwide position in recent years as we strengthen the State of Israel", he said. In fewer than five months in the White House, he has already had a significant impact on ties - some positive, most very negative - on ties with Australia, the Europe Union, the United Kindom, a number of Arabian Gulf states and Cuba.

The meetings are expected to raise issues such as are defence cooperation, boosting economic ties, terrorism combating operations and security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Today, it is not required to explain what's terrorism. "Your younger generations must continue your strong bond with India", the Prime Minister told the Indian diaspora. "You fill me with new energy", the Indian PM said in his address.
