South Korean President Moon Jae-in has invited North Korea, his country's archenemy, to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, saying sports can serve as a peace maker and the invitation is thus aimed at easing incessant tensions between the two neighbors over Pyongyang's missile and nuclear programs.

The Hyunmoo-2 is South Korea's indigenously developed ballistic missile with a range of 800 km, reports Xinhua news agency.

Shortly after his election, South Korea's president announced that he'd learned the USA had sent four additional un-approved launchers to the site. "I hope North Korea's cheering squad could also join us to establish a platform for the reconciliation of South and North Korea.".

South Korea's military said Friday it is confirming whether North Korea conducted another rocket engine test on Wednesday, following a report from Fox News that the Kim Jong Un regime had tested a device in a region on the western coast of the peninsula.

If confirmed, it would be North Korea's second such test this year.

Officials in the US and overseas are expressing concern over North Korea's space launch program at Sohae on the country's west coast.
