Samsung likely to launch Galaxy Note 8 in August

The "insider" wouldn't reveal where in NY the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will launch or on which exact day, but it's likely it'll be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8's Unpacked launch back in March.

After launching it at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, in February, Samsung Electronics on Tuesday brought Galaxy Tab S3 to India, featuring an advanced S Pen.

According to a report from Naver, citing an unnamed Samsung official, the company will make the alleged Galaxy Note 8 official in NY.

Up until now, we haven't heard too much with regards to a release date.

Another source has suggested the Galaxy Note 8 will launch in NY during the third week of August, which would follow the same lines as The Bell's leak. Slide-proof and 9.4mm thick, the S Pen provides a comfortable and stable grip, allowing for a more natural handwriting experience overall. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the Home Button. Reports suggest Apple will launch the iPhone 8 alongside the updated iPhone 7s series sometime in September this year.

Details about the Galaxy Note 8 are still scarce, but we'll find out more on August 26, when the device goes official.

It comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

It's not clear whether Samsung will be just as picky as to where it sells the Galaxy S8 Active, but if you live outside the U.S. you probably shouldn't get too excited just yet. The tablet is available in Black & Silver color options.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 specifications include a 9.7-inch QXGA (2048x1536) Super AMOLED display; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (2.15GHz + 1.6GHz), 4GB of RAM; a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, an f/1.9 aperture, and LED flash; a 5-megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and 32GB of storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

15/5/16: A leak via Weibo has "confirmed" that the Galaxy Note 8 will pack a 6.3in screen, making it the biggest phone in Samsung's Note range so far.
