Businessman, wife and son shot dead outside their house in UP's Sitapur

As per the reports, Sunil Jaiswal (60) along with his wife Kamini Jaiswal were returning from their store in the civil lines area when they were reportedly shot dead by the unknown assailants. A neighbour, who tried to intervene, was also injured in the incident after the attackers shot him. But he also said his government has inherited a state of "jungle raj" from its predecessor Samajwadi Party and that it would take some time for improvements in law and order.

A week back, a 36-year-old businessman was shot dead on the road in Allahabad.

Last month too, a man was shot dead and four women of his family were allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint on the highway near Jewar in Uttar Pradesh. ANI reported that the assailants fled with cash after firing.

Meanwhile, the angry locals alleged that two police constables refused to help while the crime was taking place saying the area was not under their jurisdiction. An official told IANS the crime appears to have been executed by professionals as they were wearing masks and appeared to have done a reeky of the area before they committed the actual crime. A similar robbery attempt was made on another trader a few days ago, he added.
