But it's the animation that makes Injustice 2 a standout game.
Here's what I've found during my time with Injustice 2.
First things first, I want to talk about Injustice 2's presentation.
There's plenty in Injustice 2 for fighting game veterans and newcomers alike.
Just like with the first Injustice, the sequel focuses on an alternate DC world where Superman went evil, splintering the Justice League in half, and leaving Batman as the protector of an oppressed and crumbling world.
I think in this early period, you're gonna see a lot of theoriesIt's amusing, when you watch the life of a fighting game over the course of the years it's featured at like an EVO or a CEO or a Combobreaker, all these big events, you see certain characters falling in and out of favour. The single-player experience has also been enhanced to the point where you won't even have to go online for a while if the Gear System speaks to you. Really, it's more or less the same thing that happens every time Superman baddie Brainiac shows up: the mastermind begins assimilating and collecting cities, turning both structures and inhabitants into digital versions of themselves.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad both made enough money at the global box office to fill the Batcave, but received poor reviews. Multiverse mode is fighting games' answer to Destiny, giving you the opportunity to level up your fighters, earn and equip gear for them, and use those power gains to take on increasing challenges that change every day.
With Injustice 2 hitting stores on 16th May 2017, let's break down the biggest features of this massive game.
Brainiac is here to kill the last remaining Kryptonians (and also destroy Earth), Batman and Superman's respective ideologies about how best to protect Earth and its people are at the heart of Injustice 2's conflict. Although it wasn't easy, the NetherRealm assures the Gear System is balanced in execution because victory depends on how players simply prefer to play. The previous highest scoring fighting game to do so on the review aggregator was Netherrealm's own Mortal Kombat X, which scored an 86 and tied Arsys' Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. However, you'll need lots of Source Crystals to tinker with items you already own, and unlock the most sought after items, like the premier skins. There's something inherently cool about seeing these iconic characters kitted up to the silver age nines, which makes my inner fanboy squeal with delight as I recognise certain outfits and themes hailing from various eras of DC Comics continuity. You can quickly identify characters you like the feel of and the ones you don't (I prefer faster hitters like Harley or Green Arrow; the slightly slower fighters, like perennial favourite and frontman Batman, don't do it for me). Various heroes from the DC universe choose between the former friends, and you play as both sides throughout the game. And they look fucking great as they do it. Things like gorgeous snowy backdrops are all well and good, but the real test is faces.

Even so, it's not long before he's freed and everyone teams up for the greater good. I don't know how many years but it certainly will be more than one year, that's for sure.
Players can duke it out against one another in a huge variety of modes, including one-on-one ranked and unranked online battles, King of the Hill sessions and local versus multiplayer.
Injustice 2 is built on the premise that if it ain't broke... just give gamers new characters and a few new bells and whistles. In Gorilla City, Grodd has allied villains from around the world; his new Society seeks to take advantage of the world's instabilities.
