Tributes to Cornell have been pouring in from around the music and entertainment industries, as fans continue to grieve. The station played non-stop songs from Soundgarden and Cornell's other bands and solo work, as well as artists who covered Cornell's material and those who were influenced by him. He was 52. Soundgarden was the scheduled headliner for Pointfest on Saturday in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
Soundgarden was slated to be among the headliners at this weekend's Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.
"A full autopsy report has not yet been completed".
Cornell wrote and performed "You Know My Name", the theme song for Casino Royale, the first James Bond film starring Daniel Craig.
But Cornell spoke fondly of Detroit, repeatedly, the one element of the show he seemed truly excited about, and talked about the audience being unparalleled.
Cornell was found dead after performing in a concert with his band, Soundgarden, in Detroit on Wednesday evening.
Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti tweeted: "Chris was the most influential singer to me as a writer".
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office told E! She expects some information to be released about the results later in the day.
Cornell, 52, had three children.
Cornell was in Detroit performing with Soundgarden on a U.S. tour that kicked off last month. Police say he died at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel and that his death is being investigated as a possible suicide.
He reunited with Soundgarden in 2010 and they released a sixth studio album, King Animal, two years later.
"It appears as though a family friend was checking up on Cornell at his wife's request".
The Grammy-winning rocker had performed Wednesday night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
