According to reports, after teasing her new single across social media over the past few days, Gomez is allegedly potentially planning to debut the new song at the big award show this weekend.
Following her 2016 album, Revival, Selena Gomez returns this week with a new single, "Bad Liar", co-written with Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and Ian Kirkpatrick. However, she concedes that doing so is hard - and pretending like she doesn't care is what makes her a bad liar. At first we expected it to be a sexy video, but now we're thinking it might be very serious and very controversial.
We'll know for sure soon enough. David Byrne "wholeheartedly gave his permission", for Gomez to sample the bass line from the modest 1977 hit, which peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978 at 92.
In an interview with Variety, collaborator Justin said: "Selena and Julia are Talking Heads-obsessed".
Complimenting Gomez's new direction, one fan tweeted: "Honestly, #BadLiar sounds so damn good and them vocals tho".
"Bad Liar" is available to download and stream here.

The singer did however share several clips from the video on her Instagram account. Wearing a revealing pink negligee, the brunette beauty is seen writhing around on the bed as her wrists are tied by a white ribbon.
'From the moment I started singing, she always reminded me that all of this was a privilege, and could be taken at any moment'.
