As seen on the image, the smartphone device features a dual camera module, which has been the most heavily rumored OnePlus 5 characteristic up to date.
It looks like OnePlus wants to make the OnePlus 5 have one of the best camera phones on the market.
Although OnePlus did not reveal many details about this partnership, so we'll have to wait and see how DxO Labs will be involved in the making of OnePlus 5's camera.
OnePlus has formally confirmed the name of its next flagship smartphone, and tipped some exciting camera news too. There's always more to be done to give you the ability to take clearer, more lovely photos.
Why partner with DxO?
Early rumours for the much anticipated smartphone have pointed toward a dual camera unit, with OnePlus allegedly following the lead of Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, Huawei's P10, the LG G6 and more in the growing trend of offering twin-lens shooters.
While at one point it seems like good move by the company to benefit consumers, at the same time it does raise eyebrows as to what could be the ulterior motive behind this partnership.
"Working alongside DxO, we're confident the OnePlus 5 will be capable of capturing some of the clearest photos around", OnePlus said in a statement. Leaks have hinted at a top-end, Snapdragon 835-powered device which will build on the company's successes in 2016 with the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. All those leaks have two things in common, they suggest that the phone will be made out of metal, and that it will sport a dual camera setup on the back.
The OnePlus 5 comes after the OnePlus 3T, and if you are wondering where is the OnePlus 4, the answer is simple: OnePlus is a company based in China and the number 4 in China is associated with bad luck. The screen size will be of 5.5-inch.
