It has been a while since this update was released for the unlocked variant in other parts of the world but users in the US have been made to wait. LG is finally rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the high-end smartphone in the country. Today, American carriers AT&T and T-Mobile have something for those using the 2015 HTC One M9 and the budget LG Stylo 2 Plus, respectively. We're talking about the United States version of the LG G5 (RS988), the one that's missing Android 7.0 Nougat for like six months. Sadly, the AT&T website does not provide much information regarding what exactly is changed, only that it includes the same security patches from February. The update is reportedly just over 1.3GB in size, meaning users should ensure they have at least double that amount of free storage space available on their device before they initialize the download.
OTA updates are amazingly unpredictable. Apart from a new build of the Android OS, the update also ships with the April Security Patch, users who have already installed the new software are reporting, as evidenced by the screenshot below. This OS is rolling out to the ZenFone 3 Max with model number ZC553KL and carries software version 14.0200.1704.119.
Make sure you're on WiFi and have a topped off battery when you start the update, and let us know when you get it!
All of these phones are receiving their updates over the air and as a result, it might take up to a week before everyone actually receives the OTA notification.
