Switch sells 906000 units in March in the U

For instance, the console has sold 300,000 units in Japan during the initial week.

The Nintendo Switch may be working out availability with certain retailers, but that's not stopping it from being a big-seller on the market anyway. That means the hybrid handheld/home gaming device outsold Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4. Both of these consoles, however, were released in the holiday season, the traditional release window for consoles. That total includes more than 925,000 units sold for Nintendo Switch and almost 460,000 units sold for the Wii U console. For more info on the console's sales, you can check out the full press release from Nintendo below.

After what seems like a successful launch of the Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild receiving flawless scores from many outlets, Nintendo has finally revealed their sales numbers on both products, and they look good.

Of course, that's not without some help.

Sales of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on the Switch topped 925,000, actually outstripping sales for the new console. The company's also moving forward with announcing new features for the console, which we're likely to hear about in a couple months' time at E3 2017.

Yes, you read that right. Saying the Switch and its flagship game have gotten off to a good start would be an understatement.

It also didn't hurt that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" - an incredible game that received near-universal praise from critics and consumers alike - launched alongside the Switch. Still, this is a huge win for Nintendo coming off the stinging failure of the Wii U.

This has created the odd situation where there have been more copies of that game sold than there are consoles to play it on.

The Switch is the fastest selling Nintendo system ever.

After the flopping of the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch is a great comeback for Nintendo.

Arms is part of a small-but-growing list of original Nintendo properties debuting on Switch.

Thoughts about the Switch's sales figures? Nintendo said that was because some users bought both a limited edition of the game and another version. Feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
