MORE: Who Has the Best Galaxy S8 Deal?
Samsung made a big song and dance about its virtual assistant Bixby when it had announced the Galaxy S8 last month. Samsung claims Bixby is more "intelligent" and designed for "completeness" allowing users to use your voice for everything you would otherwise do by tapping the screen.
Samsung Electronics regained the top position in the global smartphone market in the first quarter of the year, even before the release of its latest flagship Galaxy S8. They will start at £2250 ($2,810 USD).
Samsung has gone to great lengths to position its new Bixby assistant as the automated centerpiece of the new Galaxy S8.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung will not launch the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with Bixby due to certain performance issues discovered in the past few weeks.
Owners will have to wait till spring 2017 to take Bixby Voice for a spin. For now, you will be able to make use of features such as Bixby Vision, Bixby Home, and Bixby Reminder. Samsung is "proudly" claiming that Bixby is the most intelligent virtual assistant on the market yet, capable of performing tasks that other virtual assistants can not.
That doesn't mean that Bixby will be completely absent from the Galaxy S8 at launch.
In an official statement sent to Axios, Samsung has confirmed that its in-house virtual assistant, Bixby Voice, won't be available when the device goes on sale later this month.
Earlier this year Samsung revealed it is leading the pack with more than 5 million Gear VRs sold, crushing the almost 1 million Sony PS VR headsets sold to date.
Samsung will also enable the new Home panel and the ability to set reminders via Bixby. Some rumors also say that Samsung may launch its upcoming phablet at the same time.
