Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in regular and IMAX theaters on December 15, 2017.

We've already heard Luke's ominous words from The Last Jedi trailer, about how it may be "time for the Jedi to end".

"She's a brilliant writer, with an incredible mind". Fisher had wrapped shooting "The Last Jedi" before her death. "I'd go to her house and we'd sit on her bed for hours, going through the script".

"Breathe. Just breathe", Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker says opening the trailer, nearly as if speaking to the millions of fans watching online. Finn definitely stood up for himself at the end of Force Awakens and caught a bit of an injury to the back.

While the Jedi legend was realized in the deaths of Darth Vader and Darth Sidious, who apparently represented the last of the Sith, the sequel trilogy revealed that those who pursue the dark side of the Force are far from vanquished.

"The Last Jedi" picks off where "The Force Awakens" left off, with Rey (Ridley) meeting Luke on a remote island, filmed off the coast of Ireland. "He wants to find his place now", Boyega said. New to the franchise this time around are Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

While it might originally feel like a let down that the mysterious character is a maintenance worker, it actually has more of an emotional weight than you'd think. He admitted he told Johnson he was was "terrified" about his character becoming a big deal again. "I love her so much, I just adore her". But this perfectly aligned scene of Luke and R2 beside a burning structure - which looks grand enough to be a new Jedi Academy - is nearly certainly a hint at flashbacks and answers to what exactly happened that night. I was trying to get that even though they start out not knowing each other. "You have to fill in your own backstory".

That's not the case, said Kennedy, who referred to Todd Fisher as "confused" about the situation.
