The upcoming Creators Update will have a whole host of new features and to trial it before anyone else, you can sign up to the Windows 10 Insider Program.
We may now be a couple weeks from the RTM version of Windows 10, since it is expected to be released in early April. "Internet Explorer 9 is no longer supported, so if your Windows Vista PC is connected to the Internet and you use Internet Explorer 9 to surf the web, you might be exposing your PC to additional threats", the website says.
Today's update bumps the Windows 10 build number for PCs from 15061 (made available to testers on March 17) to build 15063.
Fixed a reliability issue from Build 15061 resulting in Microsoft Edge hanging and becoming completely unresponsive. The latest incarnation of Win10 Anniversary Update now stands at 14393.969.
You will be unable to download new (additional) language packs on this build. The company then decreed that Windows 10 would be the only supported edition on seventh-generation and later CPUs and simultaneously dictated a substantial shortening of Windows 7 support. These will go live later this week. If your PC appears to hang during the reboot, power your PC off and back on and the install will proceed.
Users with the hardware reported getting error messages when using Windows Update to get patches, including, "Unsupported Hardware".
And, nother message that said, "Windows could not search for new updates".
Don't expect any new features during this is the final stretch of builds.
You will also be warned that you may need to wipe the hard drive of your PC before reinstalling Windows in order to stop receiving the builds from the Insider Preview. This does not affect the quality of your broadcast and is only visible to the Broadcaster.
"If you continue to use Windows Vista after support has ended, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses".
If you're OK with the above and want to get build 15063 now, head to PC Settings, select "Update and recovery", then "Preview builds", and then click the "Check Now" button.
