The launch event is going to be live streamed on official Gionee India Facebook page from 12 PM today.
Connectivity-wise, the Gionee A1 comes with 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Global Positioning System. Unveiled first at MWC 2017 last month, the Gionee A1 brings a new dual-chip charging solution to rapidly charge the built-in 4,010 mAh battery.
It is pertinent to note that Gionee's new A-Series lineup focusses on selfie images and battery life.
The 5.5-inch full-HD AMOLED display carrying A1 is powered by MTK Helio P10 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and houses 4,010mAh battery. The device runs on Android 7.0 Marshmallow. It equipped with 4GB RAM+64GB total storage, which is expandable to 128 GB via a microSD slot. The dual-SIM enabled smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Applying the similar strategy on Gionee A1 as well, the smartphone comes packed with a 16MP selfie shooter.
The major highlight of the device apart from selfie camera is the new 18W ultra fast charging technology, which the company can charge these devices in 2 hours.
The Gionee A1's forepart camera is equipped with Gionee's customized selfie flash, with the company promising "enhanced facial complexions".
At its launch during MWC 2017, Gionee priced the A1 at Euro 349 (around Rs 24,600), while the Gionee A1 Plus is priced at Euro 499 (around Rs 35,200). For the A1, this comes to a price of around Rs 24,000, so we'll have to wait and see if Gionee sticks with this same pricing for India as well. It also runs the MediaTek P25 processor and has a bigger 6-inch Full High Definition (FHD) display. The smartphone houses a pair of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors at the rear end. The handset measures 154.5 x 76.5 x 8.5mm and weighs 182 grams. It comes in tow color variants-gold, black, and gray.
