The Sweet Sixteen for the 2017 NCAA basketball tournament has been set. The Ducks lost six fewer games before the NCAA Tournament, but MI might be the nation's hottest team.
In one of the most thrilling finishes of Saturday's games, the No. 10 seed Oregon Ducks beat No. 7 Temple 71-70 on Ruthy Hebard's go-ahead basket with 5.5 seconds to play.
Luckily, that was far from the case. "So that was one, and the other one I had was Villanova, which was the number one seed and defending champion and they lost Saturday, I was a ideal 2 for 2". Joining them on Friday, though, were the Florida State Seminoles as they were toppled by an 11-seed, Xavier.
The NCAA women's tournament carries on Sunday as two No. 1 seeds will be in action and looking to advance.
Number 7 seed SC had the biggest take down, knocking off Number 2 Duke 88-81. Louisville and Duke, however, were not almost as fortunate as they made a premature exit. The No.1 and No.2 seeds have been eliminated with defending champion Villanova and Duke losing in the Round of 32.
That now leaves us with the Sweet 16 where there should be some fascinating matchups. 3 Florida State plays No. 6 Missouri at 4:10 p.m., with the victor moving on to face the victor of Oregon State-Creighton. However, with the way this 2017 NCAA Tournament bracket has played out now, you have to wonder how long North Carolina, Kansas and Gonzaga will be able to last.
