Rita's Italian Ice is also celebrating spring by giving away free Italian ice.

It's expected that more than one million Rita's guests nationwide will visit Rita's on March 20 as part of the family-favorite tradition.

On Monday, Rita's locations across the nation are celebrating the first day of spring by giving customers a free 7 oz.

Dairy Queen knows you do and participating non-mall locations are offering free small vanilla cones all day.

The aim, officials said, is two-fold - to make you smile, and to raise funding for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

Today is the day to get your free sugar fix.

Of the 39 flavors of Italian or water ice available at Rita's, the most popular is mango; the chain uses 300,000-plus pounds of mangoes annually.

Members of the Ceres Chamber of Commerce were among the first to welcome Rita's Italian Ice to Ceres during its grand opening on Wednesday. Tag your photos on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook with #RitasFirstDayofSpring to be entered in a contest to win a year of free ice.
