Woods hasn't played since February 2, when he withdrew before the second round of the Dubai Desert Classic because of back spasms.
But on Monday, the 14-time major champion did not rule out potentially playing the Masters, which tees off at Augusta National in early April.
When asked by Strahan on the possibility of playing in the Masters, Woods said: "God, I hope so". It's meant so much to me in my life.
"I need to get back physically", Woods said. That's the hard part, getting the prep time in.
On Saturday, Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, issued a statement to the Golf Channel in which he refuted a report which said the golfer was unlikely to play the Masters.

Woods withdrew from the Genesis Open and the Honda Classic, and did not play in last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational, which he has won a record eight times.
Woods appeared on the show to promote his new book, "The 1997 Masters: My Story", celebrating the 20th anniversary of his infamous performance at the event. He's gotten treatments and is progressing and hoping he can do it.
After Woods closed with a final-round even-par 72 in 1995, he left the course that evening to head back to Stanford so he could make his 9 a.m. history class. "I couldn't give you a fair assessment, but to say it's doubtful is an absolutely inaccurate statement".
He finished 15th there among a small field and has since missed the cut and withdrawn from his two other starts. He could play in next week's Shell Houston Open, but Woods has never played the Houston event, and has never played the week prior to the Masters as a pro.
