Would you be happy with the arrival of The Evil Within 2 on your consoles and PC?
Shinji Mikami's survival horror title The Evil Within may be getting a sequel, if a recent job listing is to be believed.
But the listing indicates that Bethesda could very well be interested in continuing the franchise, especially considering that the first game performed pretty well for them in both the USA and Japanese game markets, even with the name change over to Psycho Break.
For those of you who don't know the game, The Evil Within is a third-person survival horror video game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. Well it is either Evil Within 2 or Psycho Break, the title is yet pending for official clarification. But fingers crossed, horror fans - you could get another helping of Evil yet!
The first The Evil Within released in 2014, but was a split-platform release. Mikami is well-known for designing some of the best survival horror games such as "Resident Evil" and "Dino Crisis". At a time when Resident Evil was favoring a more action heavy approach, The Evil Within offered something a little closer to the earlier RE games. It was only recently that "Resident Evil 7" ended up impressing fans once again. The Evil Within 2 might be already in development, and we'll probably hear more about it at E3 2017. And The Evil Within 2 could easily be one of them. Look for more info in June.
The Evil Within was developed by Shinji Mikami with his own studio called Tango Gameworks and while there is no official confirmation of a sequel yet, a leaked job listing might have revealed a potential sequel, as discovered on NeoGAF.
