The jet black iPhone 7 is one of the most handsome Apple devices we've seen in years, but if you have a hunkering for a more retro look, Colorware's new mod has got you covered.
The iPhone 7 Plus Retro Edition is created to mimic the look of a vintage 1980s-era Macintosh, and while it does just that very well, it doesn't come cheap.
In spite of having the iconic logo of Apple, the vintage model of iPhone 7 Plus touts a multi-colored logo of the company. Last year's iPhone 6s retro repaint cost only a little less, and is marked as sold out on the site. ColorWave believes "If you love the vintage look of the original 1980's Mac then why not have it on your phone!" It is a SIM-free model so you can use it on any compatible carrier, and it also comes with 256GB of storage. "Great attention to detail is given to this fully painted iPhone", notes the company. Dark beige stripes line the edges turning the iPhone into a work of art. "Don't miss your chance to own this classic!" As posted by MacRumors.com, "At ColorWare, the product goes through a labor intensive process of disassembly, cleaning, masking, painting and inspection". ColorWare's custom paint jobs have never been particularly cheap, and the retro styling is no exception.
Once these steps are over, the folks at Colorware buff the iPhone 7 Plus and reassemble its parts.
This is actually a good question - why is iPhone 7 Plus Retro Edition by ColorWare expensive? The device then undergoes the final inspection.
