McQuarrie made sure Cavill was privy to what was required of him in joining the Tom Cruise-starring franchise.
Via an Instagram exchange with director Christopher McQuarrie, it's been announced that Henry Cavill will join the cast of Mission: Impossible 6. Had a thought. Curious if you're interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible.

After Cavill finally writing "I'm in!", the director wrote: "Outstanding". Welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds.
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Man from U.N.C.L.E star joins Tom Cruise for the sixth installment in the franchise, with Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner all returning after the previous film, Rogue Nation, which was released in 2015.
"Mission: Impossible 6" will hit USA theaters on July 27, with McQuarrie directing as well as writing the script. Cruise will once again produce the movie along with David Ellison and J.J. Abrams.
Cavill's upcoming movies include "Justice League" and "Man of Steel 2", in which he will reprise his role as Superman.
