Europa League quarter final draw: Manchester United get Anderlecht, Ajax play Schalke

Besiktas press officer Metin Albayrak has revealed that he expects the Istanbul giants to face Manchester United in the Europa League final.

A place in next season's Champions League is on offer to the winners, increasing the stakes of the tournament for every team left in at this late stage.

Manchester United made the last eight with a 1-0 win over Rostov on Thursday at Old Trafford, going through 2-1 on aggregate.

The first leg had ended 1-1 at Schalke which brought aggregate score to 3-3. Potential finalists include Manchester United, AS Roma, Olympique Lyon, Schalke 04, Ajax Amsterdam and Anderlecht.

The competition is now at the round of 16 stage with the second legs to be played on Thursday.

Ryan's Genk will learn who they'll play in the quarter-finals at 11pm AEDT on Friday.

Uefa have also announced that Axwell Ingrosso will perform before the Europa League final at the 48,000-capacity Friends Arena in Stockholm.

Speaking at the quarter-final draw in Nyon, Switzerland, Albayrak stated that he expects both United and Besiktas to progress to the final.
