The Pokémon Company teases an upcoming game for Japan

Today, The Pokémon Company announced a new smartphone game would be out this spring in Japan.

The Pokémon Company is releasing a new game called Splash! After hearing a roaring sound in the early morning, and feeling the ground shake, a 27 year old fisherman discovered two Magikarp-shaped holes in the ground at the center of town.

The Pokemon Company has also released mobile games like Camp Pokemon, Pokemon TV, Pokemon Shuffle and Pokemon Duel, which you can download now.

Pokemon Go managed to generate over $1 billion in revenue in its first seven months on mobile app stores. As you might know, Magikarp is one of the most iconic species in the Pokemon universe.

Anyone unfamiliar with Magikarp has probably guessed it's a Fish Pokemon and does hold the designation of most useless Pokemon until, of course, it evolves in a Gyarados. No one knows the reasons for the holes, but an investigation has begun. It is developed by Select Button. In stark contrast with nearly any other creature out there, Magikarp's single "Splash" ability is basically useless against other Pokemon. "Magikarp!" ("Hanero! Koiking!"). Though other than the title, the teaser offers no other solid information.
